The 2007 season was our second year for the Canine Lacrosse Club.  I would like to thank the players and parents for believing in our program.  The Dog Pound saw a huge growth in numbers this year.  We started our program with one team in 2006 consisting of 16 players to this year having over 60 total!  Our emphasis is for each boy to learn the game of lacrosse and develop their physical and mental skills while having FUN!  Spring of 2007 we had (two) U11, U13, and U15 teams participating in the York County Lacrosse Association (YCLA).  Spring of 2008 will bring the addition of a Junior Varsity level team for boys in 9th - 12 grade, and ultimately a Varsity/High School level team possibly in 2009.  (We are currently communicating with the West York Area School District regarding the feasibility of boys and girls varisty and junior varisty lacrosse starting in the spring of 2009.  Check back often as more details become available!)  This past spring in the YCLA there was approximately 1,700 boys and girls participating from 1st grade through 12th grade.  At the youth level we competed with clubs in the following areas:  Central, Dallastown, Eastern York, Northern York, Red Lion, Spring Grove, South Western, Susquehannock, York Catholic, and York Suburban.  As we approach the fall and winter months, please pass the word Lacrosse has arrived in the West York Area.  In addition, we would love to add more dog-tags (members) to the Dog Pound (Canine Lacrosse family)!  I look forward to seeing everyone at the Dog Bowl (our home field)!
